Journalist | Writer | Consultant
Hi, I'm Sanam. I'm an experienced journalist who has reported for print, digital and broadcast media in Canada and abroad. My work has been published in The Globe and Mail, the Toronto Star, Metro News, Toronto Life, Chatelaine, Broadview, The National (UAE) and many other newspapers and magazines. I've also held on-air positions at Breakfast Television Edmonton and OMNI News: South Asian Edition.
Some of my biggest strengths are my versatility as a writer and my interest in a lot of different things. I've done everything from covering a murder trial in Edmonton to interviewing a Bollywood actress in Dubai. I've reported on the challenges faced by Syrian refugees, compiled travel listicles and profiled prominent CEOs. These days, I find myself most drawn to working on stories about health and wellness, social issues, the arts and the Muslim community.
As someone who finds purpose in sharing valuable information, I've also enjoyed working in communications. With my first-hand knowledge of newsrooms, I have been highly successful at landing extensive media coverage for nonprofits. Now, I'm using my writing and media relations skills to help diverse organizations with their internal and external communication needs.
